Welcome! My blog is all about my love of books, in an ideal world I would blog about a specific genre but my taste is so broad I just love to read! I do however have a massive soft spot for anything dystopian and at the other end of the spectrum young adult! I have far too many books and I need more! I thought it would be a good idea to set up a blog so I can share my passions but I will occasionally also ramble about a lot of other things such as tv series and films and my love of Orlando plus did I mention I love books!!! I have a bit more info in my About Me page so please have a look!

BLOG TOUR - Grishma by Kelly Anne Blount

In the world of Necoh, everyone fears Grishma, a hideous murderous beast responsible for ruining or ending the lives of anyone who dare cross her.

As a young boy, Ryder lived with his family, deep in the caves underneath the Kadin Forest, unaware of the horrors of the world. His simple world was turned upside down one horrible night when Grishma attacked his family, killing his father and kidnapping his mother and younger sister.

From that night on, Ryder devoted his life to killing Grishma. He tracked the monster from Necoh, to our world, and back again. Unfortunately, during his quest, he accidentally transported Brooklyn, a high school junior into his tumultuous world, where she is mistakenly identified as Princess Sophie, the missing princess of Sumner.

Days after Princess Sophie’s return, Grishma plots and manipulates the King into drugging and marrying off his only daughter to Prince Algid of Dratun. Desperate to save Brooklyn, who now believes she is the long lost princess, his mother, and his little sister, Ryder embarks on the deadliest part of his quest.

Will he save Brooklyn? Will she ever regain her memory? What will become of his mother and sister?

Through epic adventure, loss, and love, GRISHMA depicts the strength of the human spirit and the tight bonds formed by the unique creatures of Necoh.

REVIEW
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

So what did I think of Grishma, well I thought it was really good, though I would say it is more aimed at the teenage reader, saying that I found it to be a well written beautifully described novel about Brooklyn's amazing and dangerous journey from Earth to the planet of Necoh.

Her perfect evening at her high school's must go to party is ruined, first her best friend has been seeing the object of Brooklyn's affection and then after running off upset she runs in to the forest and narrowly misses being attacked by something terrible, Ryder an exchange student comes to her rescue and in true Terminator style he demands she come with him if she wants to live.

She does and they make their way to a beautiful moonbow where she is given a potion to drink by Ryder and the next thing she knows she has woken up in a cave - where is she?

She is on Ryder's home planet of Necoh and he sets about telling her about the horrible creature that was chasing them - Grishma a huge monstrous creature with sharp claws and a constant smell of rotten fish, not to mention the nasty green and brown scaly skin, it is their worst nightmare and Ryder is hunting it, he needs to find his mother and sister who were taken by the creature many years ago and he needs to find the creature to do this.

He did not bargain for Brooklyn ending up in the mix! What happens next is a thrilling tale as Brooklyn becomes separated from Ryder in this world so alien to her and gets mistaken for a lost princess who is about to get married against her will!

There is a lot going on towards the end of this book and I hate giving away spoilers, but of course questions such as will Brooklyn get back home? and Brooklyn and Ryder, what's there deal? will be on your list, I suggest you read this, switch off your phones and other gadgets and immerse yourself in the beautiful world that has been created here.

Grishma is awarded 4 out of 5
