Never apologize
Hard-edged rocker Graham Allen has it all. He's flush with cash from playing bass in a band by night and restoring classic cars by day. And there are plenty of women willing to share his bed for a night, complication-free. Perfect, because if there's anything he learned from his past, it was to never get attached—to anything. So when bartender Carly Sullivan flashes her innocent smile, Graham isn't prepared for what happens next.
Never fall in love
Two rules, that's all Graham has—never apologize and never fall in love. He knows Carly is everything he should avoid. Cheerful and sweet, she has "relationship" written all over her. But Graham can't stay away from her probing questions and concerned blue eyes.
When Graham discovers Carly is hiding a crushing secret, he's prepared to risk it all. Until in one single moment, everything changes and Graham's past threatens to collide with his future. His life is crumbling down around him, and soon no apology in the world can save him.
He should've known to walk away.

EXCERPT

She walked past me and I caught a strand of her hair.
With only a slight tremor, she went completely still.
“Works for you.” I held the strand of hair out. I wasn’t messing with her, I was serious. “Wet hair, no makeup, no skirt.” I slid my eyes down her body then brought them back up. “It works.”
She didn’t say anything.
Just to see what she’d do, I let my fingers run through the strand then brushed the back of my hand down the length of her arm, slow, deliberate.
Trailing my hand like she was in a hypnotic trance, her eyes followed my every movement.
I picked up her fingers and brought them to my lips, just holding them there. Then I lowered her hand to my chin, rubbing her fingers slowly along my unshaven jaw.
“Hungry?” I murmured.
Eyes glazed, lips parted, breathing hard, Carly didn’t reply.
“Do you know what I want?” I whispered, bringing her hand back to my mouth. I grazed my teeth along one of her fingers, my tongue barely touching the tip before I ran her finger along my bottom lip.
When her eyes fluttered shut, I didn’t hesitate. I wrapped my free arm around her and pulled. Her small warm body fell against mine and her breath fanned out across my face. I leaned down, my lips inches from hers and her eyes popped open.
“Breakfast?” she asked, breathless.
My heart hammered against my ribs. “Yeah. Breakfast.” I dropped my arm and let her hand go but I didn’t step back.
Carly sank to her knees and opened the bag on the coffee table.
I stared at the top of her head and all the blood rushed to my dick. She either knew exactly what she’d just done or it was innocent as hell. I was too turned on to care which.
“Did you read my story?” Her voice was steady but her hand shook as she opened a juice.
Inhaling, I walked around her to the couch and sat. “What do you think?” Cagey was the only game I had at the moment.
Holding out one of the coffees, she glanced at me. My fingers brushed hers when I took the cup and she blushed, quickly looking away.
“You either read it that night or you forgot about it completely.” She picked up a muffin.
“Neither,” I lied.
With a mouthful of food, she looked up, surprised.
“Busy.”
“Oh.” She nodded. “Muffin?”
“No.” I liked watching her eat. Her fingers were long and thin, sexy.
“Not hungry?”
Not for food. “No.” I took a sip of coffee.
“Really?” She looked shocked or confused, I couldn’t tell which.
“Yeah.”
Carly set the muffin down, studied her hands a minute then looked up at me. “I see you leaving another woman’s house then you bring me food then you tell me you’re not hungry. I don’t know whether to be flattered or really alarmed.”

I couldn’t help it, I chuckled. “The latter.”

REVIEW

Graham Allen is a man with everything, a successful career restoring classic cars and playing bass in an up and coming band, plus he has his pick of whatever woman he wants, he has a traumatic past but he is living it up now and puts his past where it belongs - in the past.

Carly Sullivan is an angelic innocent, she works as a bartender with a sideline in writing, she sees beyond Graham's hard man exterior and starts to get under his skin as she does not want to just jump in the sack with him, she knows he is hiding something but little does he know she is also hiding a horror from her past.

Graham is a love and leave 'em type of guy but he finds himself drawn to Carly and her kind disposition but he doesn't want to get involved, he does not do relationships but yet he still can't help himself constantly thinking of her however it doesn't stop him sleeping around.

They stay friends with some near misses but as they start to get closer Graham's past comes back to haunt him in the form of his absent mother and things start to wrong for him, will he give up his wild womanising ways and face what is about to hit him or will he go off the rails and back to his hard living exploits?

No Apologies is a great read, if you like your rock star books, then you should enjoy this, perhaps Graham Allen will be your next book boyfriend?

Sybil Bartel Bio:
I grew up in Northern California with my head in a book and my feet in the sand. I dreamt of becoming a painter but the heady scent of libraries with their shelves full of books drew me into the world of storytelling. I love the New Adult genre, but really, any story about a love so desperately wrong and impossibly beautiful makes me swoon.

I now live in Southern Florida and while I don’t get to read as much as I like, I still bury my toes in the sand. If I’m not writing or fighting to contain the banana plantation in my backyard, you can find me spending time with my handsomely tattooed husband, my brilliantly practical son and a mischievous miniature boxer…

But Seriously?

Here are ten things you really want to know about me.

I grew up a faculty brat. I can swear like a sailor. I love men in uniform. I hate being told what to do. I can do your taxes (but don’t ask). The Bird Market in Hong Kong freaks me out. My favorite word is desperate…or dirty, or both—I can’t decide. I have a thing for muscle cars. But never reply on me for driving directions, ever. And I have a new book boyfriend every week—don’t tell my husband
