Welcome to my blog tour stop for best selling author
Nora Robert's latest release The Liar

Read more below about this enjoyable and thrilling read

Betrayed by the man she loved. Can she ever trust again? The brand-new novel of love, drama and hope from legendary Nora Roberts

When her husband Richard dies in an accident, Shelby Pomeroy is devastated. But his death reveals a horrible truth - Richard was a liar and a cheat. Now Shelby is left with the consequences - huge, terrifying debts and mounting proof that her husband betrayed her in every conceivable way.

Heart-broken but unbowed, Shelby is determined to fix her problems - if only for the sake of her gorgeous little daughter Callie. Returning home to Tennessee and the family she thought she'd lost for ever, she discovers a new sense of strength and freedom. And hope, too, in the handsome form of carpenter Griffin Lott - a straight-dealing man who couldn't lie to her if he tried.

But not everyone is thrilled to see Shelby Pomeroy back in town. When a shocking act of violence is traced back to Richard's shady business, it becomes clear that she is not safe from him, even in death. With her life in danger, Shelby must face the lies of the past - or lose everything.

I have a confession to make I have never read a Nora Roberts book, I have read however many of her alter ego JD Robb's books, I love me some Rourke and Dallas.

I was excited to try The Liar her latest release, millions of readers enjoy her books and I wanted to see what the fuss is all about.

The Liar is all about Shelby, recently widowed she has been living a privileged life with her rich husband and their young daughter but following his untimely death she discovers that her life of luxury has been a lie.

Richard her husband has left her with massive debts, not only that he has lied constantly to her.  Shelby feelings of loss change to hate at the way her husband has hidden everything from her. She has to sell everything, the house, their furniture, their clothes to start to clear the huge debts.

But what starts as an assumption her husband has just been playing dangerous games with money turn to fear as a private detective turns up and asks a lot of questions.  She makes a decision to take her daughter back home out of the city to the country.

Welcomed home with opened arms her family are overjoyed to see her, Shelby has bridges to build as when she married Richard she lost contact with a lot of her friends and she needs them now more than ever.

She starts to settle in to her new life and tries to find work to repay the remaining debts, finding distraction in handsome Griff an honest man, can she put her past behind her?

No, Richard's past is coming back to haunt her, it has followed her to the country and she is not safe, what has her late husband got himself in to and can she ever be free from him?

I liked the The Liar but not as much as I love the JD Robb novels, it was a good story and I loved the country setting but it was maybe a tad too long, however if you like a crime read with a strong female character plus a dash of romance, family and suspense then this will tick your boxes.

  1. You've got me beat. I've never read a single Nora Roberts book. EVER. I own several of her JD Robb titles, but I haven't read them yet either. I'm looking to change this situation, though. Thanks for the reminder!
