The Sunday Post #10 - 26th July 2015

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I'm gonna recap my week and give you an idea of what I have coming up plus anything else newsworthy!

I have decided at this exact minute that Liz Lemon (aka Tina Fey) will be my go to gif/pic every week, she has the best lines, this week I am going with this one first.

In reality this week I feel like this.

I am tired this week, it could be because I am no longer on holiday, it could be because I did lots the week I was on holiday, I could be just tired.

Whatever it is, I have slacked on the blog this week, compared to a ton of posts last week, I haven't done many this week at all.  I also love visiting lots of other sites but I just haven't summoned up the energy to switch the laptop on. I have even struggled to reply to my comments, I hate being tardy! So sorry if you have commented and I haven't replied, will get me comments up to date just now, sorry!!

I have actually decided not to do my weekly A to Z of Dystopia till next week as I think I may do a shit job of it today. I am going to chill once I have written this with chocolate, coffee, pudding and falafel, not at the same time.  I love blogging but I am sure I am not the only one to get a little off with it.

Anyway 100% normal service will resume very shortly.

Work, however was great and the week was going well until Thursday when this happened.

Oh yes, a rock was in the road, a rock I thought I had managed to avoid, nope car says no! Much beeping and flashing of warnings commenced and of course bad language from me.

I have only driven 7500 miles since I started driving again and so far my luck has been shit or maybe my driving is! This is my second puncture, the first was caused by a pothole on the main road, I have also hit a pheasant resulting in a cracked number (license) plate and have my door fly open with the wind hitting something hard and chipping the paint. So this weeks latest disaster really did piss me off.

I was pissed off at myself for not avoiding it better, I was pissed off nobody answered their mobiles when I needed them and I was pissed off because I would be late for work. Later on once my spare tyre was on and I had returned home after work I discovered my alloy wheel was too dangerous to put back on because that bloody rock had not only punctured my wheel it had buggered the alloy.

At this point I turned in to a weak female declaring I would never drive again as I was awful and then I nearly burst in to tears, my husband was wonderful about it. Yes I needed new things but shit does indeed happen. It was all sorted out today so all is ok. Still feel a little shit though - apologies for the bad language by the way!

Anyway, that is my week, I hope you have all had great weeks and I will be a better commenter next week I hope!

COVER REVEAL FOR ONE OF MY FAVE AUTHORS - SORRY NOT SHOWING YOU THE BANNER TILL MONDAY!

ALSO HAVE ANOTHER COUPLE YET TO GET BANNERS FOR BUT DO HAVE THIS ONE!

I don't know I have slacked, I'm sorry!

Finally Parks and Recreation series 4 is coming to UK satellite TV!

Amen!

I have received physical and e-copies of some fab books this week, thank you to all the publishers for sending them!
Let me know if you have read any of them!

Treated myself to a new colouring book!

Accidentally bought these in the local discount book shop!

And below is my NetGalley accidental requests (with the exception of How They Met it was bought on Amazon)

Happy Sunday!

  1. Love the Tina gifs - esp the one about talking to food. Stacks of new books there as well - I hope you enjoy them.

And on the blog front I totally hear you. I struggled last week and am continuing to struggle even now! Sometimes I get so easily overwhelmed by blogging and commenting when I have other stuff to juggle!

  4. It sounds like you were entitled to a bit of bad language with the week you've had! I lose my temper at the slightest thing these days-usually the computer-and rant like an idiot! I'm in one of those dog tired and can't be bothered spells so my blogging is a bit sporadic. Some days it all feels like too much of an effort! Hope you get to relax and get some nice soothing reading done!

  5. Sounds like you've had some back luck this week. Mine wasn't as dramatic (or maybe I was just really clumsy), but I spilled about 20 different things this week, preferable in hard to clean places (e.g. tea all over my nightstand and then having to move the bed to clean).
*finger crossed for more luck next week*

  7. Oh it sounds like your car may be jinxed, it isn't you. I have had cars like that, they were always giving me a hard time. (i am kidding, but thinking it is your car and not YOU may help)
I am a bit jealous you got Another Day, I am still pending on that one. I have heard great things about the Del Toro book. You posted a lot last week, wow! It is hard for me to keep up with reading so many posts. I hope you have a fabulous week!

    1. I hate being pending for anything on NG, no patience!! The Del Toro book was only £1 at my local discount book shop so it would have been a crime not to take it!

My poor car, it has stupid low profile tyre that don't help!

      Thanks for stopping by!

  10. Wow, that was quite a week! I love how you made it all into an interesting story for us....and I love how you "accidentally" bought books. That happens to me too.

I plan to reread Rebecca someday...I have the book, purchased a couple of years ago, waiting patiently on a stack of other rereads.

Thanks for visiting my blog, and I hope your new week is drama-free!

  11. How They Met and Other Stories is really enjoyable! I got my first flat tire on the expressway this past May the day before I was supposed to leave for vacation with my friend, and I was not a happy camper! I totally stressed out. I'm tempted to pick up Talon but for some reason I just haven't yet- hope you enjoy!

  13. You can't go wrong with a Tina Fey gif. Sorry this was such a crap week! Why is it that the week after vacation is always so rough? Flat tires are always an adventure and I go crazy when I need help and can't get anyone to pick up their phones. Hope next week is better!

  15. I love the gifs and I've been talking to food a lot last week. I had another busy week at work so candy has helped me a lot lol. Doing the weekly meme's are hard, especially if you work. I have the same problem and I agree that you don't want to rush a post just to get it out. So I only do the meme if I'm completely happy with what I've written. Sorry to hear you had a bad week and I hope this week is better!!

It is best to just leave stuff till the right time, yesterday I was too tired to read, but I did go through a few episodes of a fav TV show so things still achieved! Oh dear sounds like the flat tyre was bad!! O and love the idea of colouring book - maybe one day I will.

  23. Omg you've had such a bad week! :( I'm sorry to hear that. I don't drive but I'm sure I don't want to... when I'm sat in the passenger seat and I see someone (another driver or a pedestrian) doing something stupid I have a tendency to swear and maybe yell a little too lol... I think I'd suffer from road rage :P As for your situation, it's clearly the roads fault.
I hope this week is better than the last one :) Chin up darl,

  27. I know exactly what you mean about commenting and keeping up to date, Heather! See, today is Tuesday, and this is your Sunday post :) And you commented on my Sunday post on Sunday ;) Yet, here I am only today, and that's OK, right?
Getting a flat tire really sucks! Especially now that they use machines to close the bolts (screws? whatever they're called) that hold the tires on - I just cannot get those off by myself, even if I know perfectly well how to change a tire! Maybe you needed to get some frustrations out last week? And that flat tire helped it all come out, with cursing, being upset and almost crying.
You got Talon!! I hope you'll enjoy it :) Have a fantastic week and happy reading.

  29. Oh, car junk is the WORST. I am really sorry :( And tires, why do they have to be so damn expensive? Ugh. And I feel you with the being tired and such. I gave up on a post for tomorrow, because I just... I can't! Also, I LOVE that you "accidentally" request and purchase books! That is going to be my new alibi as well ;) Hope you enjoy them and have a wonderful (and better driving!) week!
