The Sunday Post #21 - 11th October 2015

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I'm gonna recap my week and give you an idea of what I have coming up plus anything else newsworthy!

I am happy this week and as I am British, let's talk about the weather first.

Fog and lots of it then a bit of sun.

Now lets moan about those drivers in fog who forget to put their lights on - in case you don't know anonymous drivers I CANNOT SEE YOU!!!, rant over!

I got a new car yesterday, no pictures yet I am afraid but it is white and shiny and a 4WD, SUV, Chelsea Tractor whatever you want to call it.

It is kinda lairy which is not me but I totally love it.  But I miss my old car which was instrumental in helping me regain my driving confidence after so long not driving.

It now has a happy home in Central Scotland.  My new car which is called Stormie because it looks like a Stormtrooper is a little high tech, it is liking going from a horse and cart to the Starship Enterprise - Did I mention I love it?

Blog news, last Saturday night after typing last weeks Sunday Post I suffered the loss of my Kindle Fire (HDX), it black screened, it could not be saved. I was pissed.

However Amazon were brilliant, even though my Kindle was out of warranty they replaced it, I didn't argue and my new one arrived on Thursday, thank goodness!

I have been enjoying reading lots and trying to get stuff scheduled for blog ahead.  I have about 30 posts with dates on them going in to February 2016, about 4 have been finished, the rest need to have their content finalised.  I am really enjoying it, will I be better organised in the future? Mmmm I don't know!

Have a great week everyone.

I am not sure, deciding what to read next, could be zombies or could be supernatural.......

I have received physical and e-copies of some fab books this week, thank you to all the publishers for sending them! Also, some of them are my own purchases, the pics link to Goodreads for you to find out more!

  1. Hey congrats on the new car! "Looks like a stormtrooper"- how cool. Sorry to hear about the Kindl but it's nice that they replaced it. I didn't read much this week, watched too much Netflix... oh well.

I like all your new releases, Burning Midnight and Movie game both sound cool. Movie Game I am adding to my list... :)

  6. Omg, yes! We get extremely thick fog here in the winter, and it's annoying when people don't put their lights on or drive really fast when you can't even see very far ahead. Idoits. Yay for the new car!

Ohhhh The End of the World Running Club! I'm going straight to GR to see what this is about. Fab title!

  11. I so need to catch up with The Walking Dead-I have the box sets but haven't finished watching season 2 yet! Yes, just a little bit behind huh! Plus there are other zombie things like Z Nation, Fear the Walking Dead...you can never have too many zombies! Unless they are chasing you of course...

    1. I hope I never have the too many zombies problem!

I pre-ordered Fear the Walking Dead as my BT channel isn't working to get it, grrrrr!

  12. Oh! I had the same issue with cars with no lights on during fogs last weekend.

I just watched the first 8 episodes of season 5 of The Walking Dead last night. I went to bed at 4.30 in the morning. Hmm oops. Tonight they'll marathon the other 8 and then we get the new episode tomorrow already. As I'm in the Netherlands, that is mighty quick.

  13. Yay for the new car! I don't know a lot about cars, so I am looking forward to see a picture. I like the name Stormie. And I am so sorry to hear about your loss of your kindle, that's horrible. I wouldn't know what to do without my e-reader. That's excellent customer service from amazon that they replaced it and it arrived so soon! I hope you'll enjoy your new books and have a great week!

  14. You were super lucky with the Kindle and Amazon customer service. My Fire HD was a dud right out of the package and they strung me along until my warranty wore out. A new car, Yay! I had to laugh about the shopping cart book. There was one on the side of the sidewalk on my son's way home from school during his middle school years, and he and the two buddies he walked home with named it Craig. LOL. They were sad two years later when it disappeared. Have a wonderful week. :)

Ha, that is brilliant about Craig, I really do wonder where they come from and where they go!!!

  15. Congrats on the new car...Stormie. I love naming my things...all of my devices have names, but I haven't named this car that I've had for nine years now! What's up with that?

I'm glad Amazon replaced your Kindle Fire...I would be so sad if any devices went black...but sooner or later, right?

Thanks for sharing...be careful in the fog, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  21. Congratulations on the new car! I had a rental car this past week and it was definitely a shock having all the new gadgets to play with. I love my actual car but it's on the older side. I really enjoyed your Hyperbole and a Half review. I'd love to see more from Allie Brosh but she seems to have stopped for now. That is awesome about your Kindle! I have a Fire and a Paperwhite and while I love them both the Fire can be a bit quirky and I live in fear that it's going to die. Have a great week!

  22. Sorry you had to suffer fools this week. I feel your pain. People in CA drive crazy in the rain. Then again, it's rare here, so I don't know what the excuse is for those noobs driving around in the fog without their lights. Congrats on your new car & Kindle!

  23. Yay for a new car and Amazon, brilliant they replaced your kindle out of warranty. I'd be lost without my Fire, the battery is crap now, have to charge it every day but it's hanging in there lol. Woohoo for The Returned, it's been so long I'd forgotten about it, trailer for season 2 looks awesome.
Not familiar with your new books but hope you enjoy them :)

  24. Heather - love the reading HD quote!

Kindle - I'm in shock and horror over that :'( Kindles simply CANNOT die! They just can't. It's against any sort of life philosophy or religion or something like that... It's all kinds of wrong. I hope your new kindle is all shiny and pretty :)

Talking of shiny - I don't really do cars because I don't drive, but your new car sounds very nice :) You know, because you said it's white and shiny, I assume it is and therefore must be nice :D he he. I'm a girl and I like shiny things, what can I say?

Also, totally agree about the cars, lack of headlights, and fog situation :) I'm just hoping it isn't a growing phase.

    Take care,
    Amy x
