The Sunday Post #35 - 24th January 2016

sunday post, book blog, blogger, weekly review

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I'm gonna recap my week and give you an idea of what I have coming up plus anything else newsworthy!

First of all, my blogging friends in North America please stay safe with that hellish snow you are getting, it looks like snowmageddon out there, stay warm beside your family and a book.

On my side of the Atlantic not a lot is happening besides normal work, school, housework and reading.  Oh and laughing at my kids new passports, they look like they are on a police line up.

Started reading Red Queen this week and it is ah-may-zing!!!  Definitely lives up to the hype and I have the next book waiting on my kindle ready to go.  I am going to start the Lunar Chronicles after asking Instagram whether I should read Cinder or Throne of Glass, it was the winner!

I am also slowly catching up on my comments, so apologies for my tardiness.

Have a good week everyone!

INSTAGRAM, my new obsession!!

I'm crap at photos but lots of great book photos!

I have received physical and e-copies of some fab books this week, thank you to all the publishers for sending them! Also, some of them are my own purchases, the pics link to Goodreads for you to find

  2. No snow blizzard here either, although it has been a bit colder this week. And those password pictures are always funny or horrible, depending how you look at it. I always look so serious on them too. It's fun to let others decide what you should read sometimes. I own Shattered World, but haven't read it yet, I did really enjoy the first book. Great review!

  3. Omg I love love Red Queen, it made it to My Top 10 Books of 2015! I'm surprised that Cinder won over Throne of Glass because the Throne of Glass series is AMAZING♥ I tried reading Cinder a couple of times, but wasn't in the mood for it. Definitely will pick it up soon though. I'm anticipating your thoughts!
    Have a lovely day :)

  4. The East coast is getting hammered, but we're not getting any of it here in the upper Midwest. I feel for all our friends who are getting it though... :( Glad things are calm there... You had some fun posts this week!

    Have fun with Instagram!

  5. Happy Sunday to you, too! I finally got over to your The Night Parade review and I am so happy you loved it, too. Sadly, Kindle Fires do not support the Instagram app. Amazon has and app that let's me look at the photos, but not like or comment. I will put you on my search list and keep track of yours every week. :)

  6. Glad you're enjoying Red Queen.... and like you we're not really experiencing any dire weather though we're seeing a lot of it on the news!

I'm not a huge Instagrammer but try to post something most days!

  7. I share your concern about our North American friends and hope they stay indoors and safe. It's been scary to watch on TV but at least weather warnings allowed people to get prepared for a few days indoors. I've got my box of 'prepare for blackouts/power cuts' supplies just in case we ever get that kind of situation here.

    1. I should really get a box together, it is wild outside just now and a laptop and sky remote won't get me far!

  8. Glad to hear you're enjoying Red Queen! I actually found the first half to be quite meh because it was very predictable, but then I lowered my expectations and really enjoyed the second half! I LOVE the Throne of Glass series, hope you get around to it soon. Have a great week :)

  9. I listened to Red Queen on audio and enjoyed it but didn't think it was very original. It is like so many other ya dystopia books out there but it's good enough at the same time!
Delighted you are going to be reading Cinder. Now that is original!

  16. I'm very glad to live in the Southern US as we only had about an inch though I do have family who lives farther up the East coast and they have a ridiculous amount. I'm not a fan of the whole snow thing at the best of times. I can't wait to see what you think of Cinder! I'm planning to start it soon though I have 2 audio books to get through after I finish the one I'm listening too but then Cinder will happen. Have a great week!
