The Sunday Post #40 - 13th March 2016

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I am going to recap my week, ramble about books and give you an idea of what I have coming up plus anything else newsworthy!

Hey and welcome back, see I promised I would be back!

This edition of The Sunday Post excitingly covers the last two weeks of my uber exciting life!!

Actually not much has happened apart from the near apocalypse due to space rock the size of a melon lighting up the sky over Perthshire (and other parts of Scotland), see under my Last Week posts for the dash cam videos.  I, of course missed it all as I was stupidly looking at my cooker hob instead of the sky.

Book wise, I have acquired several exciting new releases but to be honest my reading time is being hampered by my inability to stay awake!  But tonight I am powered by lots of caffeine and I hope to finally finish Golden Son - yes I am still reading it, I am savouring it chapter by chapter!

Instagram is still sucking me in, I love #bookstagram especially if it involves Funko Pop's!  Seriously though some of these Instagrammers must have boxes and of props for their pictures they are just divine, me I have a dog and my collection of Funkos!

In other news I sprained my ankle on Monday and it fricking hurts, I am feeling really old because of it!

Also my giveaway ends soon, will reveal the winner in the next couple of days!

How have you guys all been?

(ps - Leslie pics are being Parks and Rec pics as I have been watching a lot of it, I love it and it has a lot of great quotes!)

I think I shall start reviewing the amazing Saga series!

As the only person in the world who has not seen the new Star Wars, I am excited to pre-order my Dark Side version of the blu ray, out next month!!

I have received physical and e-copies of some fab books this week, thank you to all the publishers for sending them! Also, some of them are my own purchases, the pics link to Goodreads for you to find out more!

Ok don't laugh at this one!!!

Let me know if you have read any of them!

Happy Sunday!

  1. Ouch, sorry to hear about your ankle! I sprained mine last year and it sucked- I hate crutches. Hope it's not too bad... that Star Wars blu-ray cover is nice, I hope you like it! You didn't miss much by waiting ha ha- i know, everybody else but me loved it! :) I'm Mr. Negative lol.

The Fold was good, kinda trippy but I think you'll like it. And curious to see what you think of Saga! I haven't read them yet...

    1. No crutches for me, just lots of limping, it still aches now!

Saga is brilliant and The Fold will be read soon, it is on the pile!

  2. I need that Japanese book! Ha ha. My son has stopped helping me with my Japanese. *big frowny face* He doesn't speak it with me anymore, and I am forgetting what I have learned as well as not learning anything new. Sorry about your ankle! Ugh, yes, as we get older it takes longer to heal. (((hugs))) I didn't get to the Star Wars movie either. I thought it would stay in the theaters here much longer than it did. My son went with his friends twice and then lost all of his motivation to go with me. None of my older friends wanted to bother with going to the theater. I am hoping theaters will do a short run of it right before the second movie comes out. I really, really want to see it on the big screen. I got spoiled for it two days ago, but my excitement to see it is still there. I love your new floral vectors! Have a spectacular week. :)

    1. I just thought it would be kinda cool to have a little understanding of the Japanese symbols!

I would love to see it on the big screen but I have a big ass TV so that will have to do, I keep coming across spoilers too including a biggish one but it looks amazing so I will watch it no matter what!

  3. Oh so sorry about your ankle! I can definitely tell I'm not as young as I used to be when I get injured. It takes way longer to bounce back! That's awesome about the space rock. How fascinating! Enjoy all your new books! I'm a bit jealous of the Nora Roberts book. I love her! Have a great week!

  4. Ooh I loved The Valley! I wish THAT was a Saturday night gameshow as I'd watch it every week! Oh, you're not the last person on the planet to see Star Wars-I haven't seen it and I'm in no rush after the standard of the last trilogy. Love the original three films though. Have a good week!

    1. I think it was because of you I bought it! The last trilogy at least looked good and Darth Maul I think is an awesome looking baddie!

  5. I'm so envious of all the great bookstagram props too, I don't even have funko pops (yet!). Instead I'm just grabbing the most random of things from around the house!
Good luck with learning Japanese! You crazy :D

  7. Sorry to hear about your ankle! I can agree with your sentiment about #bookstagram. Everyone has such beautiful photos but it makes me wonder if they go out and spend money on pretty fabric and trinkets just for a picture or if they actually have all that pretty stuff just lying around.
I hope you enjoy your books!

  11. Oh no, I'm sorry about your ankle! I've fractured mine before and twisted it a few times because it's weak now, so I know how that hurts! I don't have an Instagram, but I do want to make one sometime soon-- but yeah, I don't have enough cool things to do awesome #bookstagram photos. We'll see! haha I'll just marvel over everyone else's cool photos.

  12. I don't think I've read The Obsession Heather. Is it new? I like Roberts' romantic suspense books so try to read most of them. (Less so her straight romance and the ones with some paranormal type stuff).

Sorry you missed the asteroid / meteor / melon thing... but good thing it flew on past!

I'm always totally agog at people's creativity on the bookstagram thing. My IG pics are always the same. And boring!

  13. Ha ha Heather, I love the quote at the bottom :P teehee!

You sprained your ankle! Get well soon! :( I know how horrible it is. Get hubby to cook and clean and you can curl up with a book instead ;) he he. And kudos on the caffeine ;)

I haven't been sucked into Instagram yet... Staying well away... enjoy though :)

    NORA ROBERTS!!!

In other news... You missed it?! It sounded really interesting, space rock and all. I thought, "Heather always has pics, I'll take a look at the pics! Awesome!" Then had to giggle at the kitchen hob instead lol. Sounds like me ;) Hopefully your food turned out good lol.

Have a great week! Get well soon.
