Rapid Reviews #2 - Graphic Novels

Sometimes you need to just get to the point, you don't need to go on and on and on and on about a book that you have enjoyed (or not).

This is what Rapid Reviews is for, my quick words of wisdom....

This week some graphic novels reads that have been on my pile.

The back cover says....

Once upon a time, there were five crazy people, and they poisoned the 21st Century. Now they have to deal with the corrosion to try and save us all from a world becoming too weird to support human life. INJECTION is the new ongoing series created by the acclaimed creative team of Moon Knight. It is science fiction, tales of horror, strange crime fiction, techno-thriller, and ghost story all at the same time. A serialised sequence of graphic novels about how loud and strange the world is getting, about the wild future and the haunted past all crashing into the present day at once, and about five eccentric geniuses dealing with the paranormal and numinous as well as the growing weight of what they did to the planet with the Injection.
It looks...

Dark and mysterious.......

The words are....

Also dark and mysterious, told from the present and the past.  I have read it a couple of times and I'm still not entirely sure what happened, make it becomes clearer in the second volume?

Who should read it....

Lovers of dark and mysterious comics

I rate it

The back cover says....

Millennia ago, mankind fled the earth's surface into the bottomless depths of the darkest oceans. Shielded from a merciless sun's scorching radiation, the human race tried to stave off certain extinction by sending robotic probes far into the galaxy, to search for a new home among the stars. Generations later, one family is about to be torn apart, in a conflict that will usher in the final race to save humanity from a world beyond hope. Dive into an aquatic fantasy like none you've ever seen before, as writer RICK REMENDER (BLACK SCIENCE, Captain America) and artist GREG TOCCHINI (Last Days of American Crime) bring you a tale of mankind's final hour in the cold, deathly dark of the sea. Collects LOW #1-6.

It looks...

Good, beautiful illustrated cover.
The words are....

I thought I would like this, end of the world books are usually my cup of tea but I just couldn't get in to this at all I am afraid.

Who should read it....

Water babies and lovers of all things wet.

  1. Water babies lol. I have to admit the whole unersea thing gets me about Low. Too bad it was disapointing. I saw a sample of it somewhere and was less than impressed, so I didn't get it. Bummer too, seemed like potential.

  3. I have Injection Vol. 1 marked on Hoopla to read, so I'm sad to see you only gave it 2 stars. Did you just read the first issue though, or the whole volume? Because I feel like I'm always confused af about what's going on in the first issue or two of comics lol.

    1. No it was the first volume but hey we can't like everything. I may have a change of heart and buy the second volume to see if that clears things up for me.
